Built Strong
Build stronger from the ground up, the 21XP features a very large 26” x 24-½” wide chipper opening and is extremely efficient at processing whole trees, limby and forked material, as well as large diameter material. The 21XP features a powerful whole tree-type feed system that includes a 15-¾” diameter top wheel and engine options up to 321-horsepower. This unit processes an amazing amount of large diameter dense whole trees while providing years of dependable service. The feed system generates 6,415 lbs. of pulling power for the top feed wheel and 4,403 lbs. of pulling power for the bottom feed wheel.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The 21XP features a 3-½” diameter chipper shaft, along with 2-15/16” chipper pillow block roller bearings. The drum is constructed with individual internal baffles welded into baffles and side plates. The drum skin is constructed of ½” steel, providing added durability. The drum is almost indestructible.
Hydraulic Lift Cylinder
Standard hydraulic lift cylinder simplifies raising and compressing the top feed wheel, reducing the effort needed to feed large diameter material with multiple stems, and limby material. The lift cylinder generates approximately 4,480 lbs. of yoke down pressure for collapsing large diameter limby material.
Hydraulic Motors
(2) 63.9 CID hydraulic motors provide each feed wheel with the power needed to pull large diameter material into the feed system. The system provides 23,391 in/lbs. of torque and over 10,000 pounds of pulling power!
Dependable Dual Axles
The Intimidator™ 21XP features tandem 10,000 lb axles with four 235/75R 17.5″ tires, providing a durable towing platform.
Dual Feed Wheel System
Bandit’s 21XP is equipped with a slide box style feed system with two horizontal feed wheels. The top feed wheel is chain driven and is 15-¾” diameter x 32” wide. The bottom feed wheel is 10-5/8” diameter x 32” wide. This feed system is the largest available for a hand-fed chipper and provides maximum pulling power for feeding large diameter trees up to 21” in diameter.
The powerful dual feed wheel system has the ability to crush and pull whole trees into the chipper. The large diameter wheels make it easy to chip large diameter material and multiple stems. It also makes it easy to feed material with multiple limbs, reducing the need for trimming. Because the wheels are horizontal, gravity helps spread out the material, maximizing the effective surface area of the feed wheels.
Infeed Hopper
All Bandit chippers have the widest possible infeed hopper openings for disc or drum diameter and length. The 21XP features a 41” high x 64” wide infeed hopper opening, easily accommodating large diameter material. The infeed hopper slopes down 3 degrees, reducing the effort needed to feed larger material.
Power Options
The engine or power unit provides all of the power to run the chipper and the hydraulic functions of the chipper. Because Bandit offers such a wide variety of engine options from all of the major engine manufacturers , the customer can select the power unit that best suits his specific needs from a performance standpoint as well as a service standpoint.[/expand]
Optional Loader
Equipping a 21XP with an optional Kesla loader further enhances the chipper productivity. The loader can be controlled by a swing-out operator’s console or radio remote control.
