Intimidator™ 12XP

The 12XP is the largest of three 12″ capacity drum-style chippers offered from Bandit. Featuring engine options ranging from 49.4 to 145 horsepower customers can choose the best package and horsepower that best suits their needs. Comes equipped with a rectangular tubing frame, 7,000 pound axle with 16″ tires and can also be ordered as a track unit with rubber track undercarriage.

A High Performance Chipper
Powerful dual feed wheels mounted in Bandit’s proven Slide Box Feed System provide direct down pressure to material entering the chipper, requiring little-to-no trim work on material before feeding it through the chipper. The standard hydraulic lift cylinder is a great feature providing extra hydraulic down pressure reducing chainsaw work making the unit easier to feed increasing productivity.

Drum

All competitive 12″ capacity drum chippers feature comparable diameter drums ranging from 20″ to 22″ in diameter. The 12XP has a 24” diameter drum, but what separates this drum apart is it turns around 1,530 RPM compared to competitive drums turning over 2,000 RPM. A slower turning drum generates more torque requiring less horsepower and fuel to chip material.

Dual-Feed Wheel System

A powerful horizontal dual wheel feed system crush and compresses material, reducing the cost of converting trees and brush into chips. Two 15.9 CID hydraulic motors provide 1,688 pounds of pulling power for each feed wheel. The standard hydraulic lift cylinder adds an additional 2,200 pounds of down pressure reducing the need to trim and reposition material to feed the chipper. A bottom clean out door is also included allowing dirt and debris to fall out extending knife life while reducing maintenance costs.

Heavy-Duty Chipper
The heart of a hand-fed chipper is the chipper drum and housing.
The Bandit Intimidator™ 12XP’s are equipped with:
• 24” diameter drum
• 3/8”-thick steel drum skin
• Internal baffling makes the drum nearly indestructible
• 3” diameter chipper shaft at hub
• 2-7/16” pillow block chipper bearings.

4-Chipping Knives
The 12XP has 4 chipper knives making 2 cuts per revolution and has double the knives of all competitive 12 drum chippers. The additional knives provide greater production and longer knife life. Extending knife life not only lowers knife maintenance costs but reduces fuel consumption, vibration and associated maintenance costs caused by running with dull knives.

Rugged Components
Heavy duty, rugged components ensure long life and trouble-free operation, even when chipping the big, tough materials. The chipper drum, housing and shaft are so rugged that they rarely need to be replaced. Bandit offers an industry best 5 year “GUTS warranty on the fabricated components of the chipper drum.

Amazing Fuel Efficiency

The Intimidator 12XP, because of its more efficient chip discharge system, synchronized feed systems, larger diameter 4-knife chipping drum and high torque drive, will chip using less energy, which means that you will use less fuel (30% in most cases) and choose a lower horsepower, less-costly engine, if that is your desire.

Wide Infeed Openings

Large, sloping infeed hopper and throat openings reduce operator labor and increase production. The 29” high x 54” wide infeed hopper opening easily accommodates limby material. The infeed hopper slopes down 3º, reducing the effort associated with feeding material up to 12” diameter. The 14.25” x 17” throat opening easily accepts this limby, brushy material
